Knowledge vs Knowingness
The nagual is unstructured, the tonal is structured. The tonal organizes and structures the nagual. Knowingness is unstructured. We bring knowingness into the tonal which gives it structure and it becomes knowledge.

Time for a little more Candy for the Reason. There is a purpose for coming into body. The totality of this purpose cannot be understood by reason alone however knowing, even if only intellectually in the beginning, can help give a structure to keep one on track.
“You must lose your human form. . . A warrior must drop the human form in order to change, to really change. Otherwise there is only talk about change. One cannot change one iota as long as one holds on to the human form. . . Warriors, must be IMPECCABLE in their effort to change, in order to scare the human form and shake it away. After years of impeccability a moment will come when the form cannot stand it any longer and it leaves.” don Juan talking to Carlos.
Students sometimes ask me about the luminous body referred to in Castaneda’s books. What is important is not WHAT the luminous body is, but HOW we increase our luminosity. One thing that was lacking in great part from Castaneda’s books was the HOW of growing, evolving and ascending. This is partly due to Castaneda himself, as he never fully developed the ability to access direct knowledge (called silent knowledge in Toltec lore) that exists in unstructured energy (the second attention).
The Toltec Path gives us three Masteries, the Mastery of Awareness, the Mastery of Transformation and the Mastery of Intent. In the Mastery of Awareness we become aware of something, that when brought into awareness, seems so obvious we may surprise ourselves that we missed it. This something is:
—Our perception determines our experience—
How fruitful would it be for two people who have never driven a car, to debate on how to drive a car? The only way to “know” how to drive a car is to “do” it. The same is true of spiritual growth.
Is the Intent of Your Spiritual Connection Misplaced?
How do you use your spiritual connection? Looking at your answer to this question may uncover where you become snagged in your growth and evolution. We can make this question more specific as follows: Do you or have you ever used your spiritual connection to get away from your life issues?
There is a Zen saying, “To understand nothing takes time.” When in body we have available to us the gift of time. Time is a wonderful tool but it is a tool we often repel. In a society of instant gratification many have difficulty accepting and using time for their growth and transformation.
Those who have read stories about don Juan from Castaneda and Abelar may recall don Juan speaking about perceiving from the knees. In our natural state we can actually perceive from several different parts of the body, one primary place is the anus. It is part of the body’s powerful instinctive function. Unfortunately, because we are a society that lives so much in its head, we have lost much of the body’s magic. On a spiritual path the consequences of this are anything but positive.
The following is a portion of a post from the Mastery of Transformation Online Course.
Remember, an integral part of growth and transformation is change. Unless we embrace change we will not grow and transform. This is simple to understand, but it is sometimes difficult to accept in real life.
